The Careers Group runs a number of projects dedicated to improving careers services to students and recent graduates.

The Great Grad Job Hunt

A project run by The Careers Group where final year students and 2016 graduates document their job hunting process on video. These videos are uploaded to YouTube and social media to create an environment where students can interact with each other (and us) and create a unique peer to peer careers experience.

The Careers Group’s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled Enhance your Career and Employability Skills was a project set up to help students make effective decisions about their future careers and to take more control over their professional development by looking at the high-level critical thinking and employability skills necessary for successful careers. Reaching over 89,000 people from over 200 countries, the course was taught over six weeks and included modules that ranged from finding out what students wanted from their careers to teaching them the right methods to find jobs and networking through social media.

Unlike many other MOOCs, The Careers Group MOOC was not discipline specific, meaning it was complimentary to any additional course of study. 96% of participant rated the course excellent, very good or good, with 93% of students feeling more confident about how they will approach their career development in the future as a result of the course. In 2015 it won the prestigious AGCAS Award for Technology.
